Uisce Éireann say a number of issues have led to restrictions on the Ardfinnan Regional Public Water Supply.

They came into effect last night and will continue until Friday at least from 9pm to 7am nightly.

It comes in the wake of similar restrictions earlier this month which were lifted on October 9th.

Operations Lead for Uisce Éireann Colin Cunningham outlines the reasons for the move.

“The restriction are necessary to help reservoir levels recover following mechanical and operational issues at the plant but also following the heavy rainfall events over the last week which put the plant under pressure.

“When the restrictions are in place some customers may experience reduced pressure while other customers may experience an outage. We’re appealing to customers to conserve water to help reservoirs recover quicker.”
