Clinton confirmed as Presidential candidate

The former First Lady was named the Democrat's Presidential candidate at the party's national convention in Philadelphia last night.

Mrs Clinton described her achievement as the “the biggest crack in the glass ceiling yet” – it makes her the first woman to secure a nomination to run in America's 240 year history.

Foreign policy strategist Nancy Soderberg says last night's endorsement speech by Bill Clinton was an attempt to soften his wife's image.
