Claims that residents in unfinished housing estates in Carrick on Suir are stuck in limbo.

The Manor estates, comprising of three developments, are currently in receivership and there are plans for the County Council to take charge of it but until that happens, the local authority cannot fix the lighting or problems with a pumping station.

Councillors say they got a commitment from council staff last year that the lights would be fixed before this winter, however, with the abolition of the Town Council and the merger of north and south the work has not been carried out.

Independent Councillor Kieran Bourke says he has raised the issue before and made promises to the residents which have been broken.

Sinn Fein Councillor David Dunne says that the Manor estate is not the only development in Carrick that's affected with lighting an issue in many unfinished estates.
