CAO see falloff in nursing applications

The CAO is today announcing application data which shows which courses are the favourites among first preference selections.

Agriculture is the big winner with an increase of 17 percent in applications for honour degree courses or 'level 8' – however nursing is down 10 percent.

With 30,000 nurses and midwives starting the year on the brink of a 'work-to-rule', the INMO's Liam Doran says the drop in interest comes as no surprise.
