Cahir is in for a major economic boost this weekend.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the inaugural Gravity Music Festival and Cannonball Run.

A number of artists, including Bressie, Paddy Casey and Ham Sandwich, are set to take to the stage in Inch Field, beside Cahir Castle from tomorrow afternoon and then, on Sunday it's the visit of the Cannonball run to the town.

€25 million worth of supercars are taking part in Europe's largest road trip across Ireland this weekend.

Chairperson of the festival committee David Walshe says they're expecting up to 15 thousand people to come through the town over the course of the weekend.

Meanwhile, residents in North Tipperary are not going to lose out…the Cannonball Run will be stopping in Moneygall on Sunday afternoon before making its way to its final stop of the tour in Tullamore.

The convoy of cars is expected to arrive at the Barack Obama Plaza, just off the M7 motorway around 3.30 with plenty of time for people to get a closer look at the cars.
