Cahill wants Rural Practice Allowance to be increased

With residents in Bansha facing the loss of their local GP in the New Year the problem has come in for much attention in recent days with around 200 people attending a meeting in the village last Friday night.

Fianna Fail Councillor Jackie Cahill feels it's just not financially viable for GP's to set up practice in smaller villages at present.

He says something has to be done to halt the decline in services for rural Ireland.
