Large number of Tipp commercial properties still vacant

The number of commercial properties lying idle in Tipperary is gradually decreasing.

However the Premier County is still higher than the national average with some towns having nearly 2 out of every 10 buildings vacant.

Clonmel has the highest vacancy rate for commercial properties in Tipperary.

However things are slowly improving across the Premier County with the latest report from GeoDirectory showing 14% of these properties were vacant in the second quarter of 2018 – this is down half a percentage point from the same period last year.

CEO of GeoDirectory Dara Keogh says there’s a sharp contrast across the Premier County

Ballybofey in County Donegal recorded the highest vacancy rate for commercial units at nearly 30% while Kilrush in Clare is at almost 27.

In comparison Greystones in Wicklow has less than 6 out of 100 commercials properties empty.

Speaking on Tipp Today Dara Keogh said while Tipperary is performing well in some sectors it could improve in other areas.
