Tipp FM understands Dunnes Store’s drapery outlet on O’Connell Street is closing down.

8 people are employed at the premises in the centre of town.

Management at Dunnes Stores on O’Connell St in Clonmel are refusing to confirm or deny that they are planning to close their shop in the centre of town.

However Tipp FM understands that the clothing shop will shut it’s doors next month.

These people out shopping on O’Connell Street told us they were disappointed with the news.

The O’Connell St shop is one of three that the supermarket chain has in Clonmel and Tipp FM understands that all eight staff – three full-time and five part-time – are being offered redundancy or a chance to relocate to the Dunnes Store on the Davis Road in the next four weeks.

Management have told Tipp FM that they have no official comment to make at this time.
