The inclusion of the Shannon Bridge Crossing at Ballina – Killaloe in the Governments Capital Plan review is seen as a major boost for tourism in North Tipp and Clare.
The project will move to construction on a phased basis over the next few years.
Funding has also been confirmed for the Killaloe Bypass and the upgrade of the existing R494 regional road from Ballina to the N7 at Birdhill.
Minister for Trade, Employment and Business Pat Breen told Tipp Today it will greatly benefit the tourism industry in the area.
