Appeal against sentence for armed raid on Tipperary family

The attack on a young family in Killenaule shocked the nation when it happened in 2013.

A total of seven men were sentenced to prison terms for their part in the terrifying armed raid on the home of Mark and Emma Corcoran and their three young daughters at Burnchurch near Killenaule in November of 2013.

Handing down the sentences at Clonmel Circuit Court on October 1st 2015 Judge Tom Teehan said the crime had a highly planned nature and that the level of violence was terrifying.

Five of them – all with addresses in Dublin – have now brought appeals against the severity of the sentences to the Court of Appeal.
