AGSI halts engagement with pay commission after Duffy’s ‘mutiny’ comments

The association of middle-ranking Gardaí says it will not work with the new group set up to consider public pay.

It's after the body's chairman said the strike threatened by Gardaí last month was 'tantamount to mutiny'.

The AGSI now says it won't work with the Public Service Pay Commission, while yesterday the GRA said it had no confidence in the new body.

But Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald is standing by its chairman Kevin Duffy – and says he's the best possible person to lead the talks:
