Simon Coveney was speaking following claims that farmers are in danger of loosing their livelihoods if prices from factories do not improve….the price for beef has fallen by 25 percent year on year.
He insisted that retailers' specifications for beef had not changed, but the implementation of the specifications had altered.
Minister Coveney also said the medium and long-term outlook for the beef sector is very strong across Europe and in new markets such as Asia and the Middle East.
