Dogs Trust Ireland says long walks and long journeys should be avoided and pets should never ever be left in a car – even with the window open.
Dog owners are also being reminded to apply sun cream to your dog – not the human kind – and Suzie Carley from the charity says a batch of special ice cream also goes a long way in keeping your canine cool.
