Little Hill Animal Rescue are holding a Hen Rescue where they will try to find homes for commercial hens who are no longer productive enough for farms.
The group buy the hens from the farmers and then re-home them for a €5 adoption fee – they will be near the Lidl car park in Cashel today.
Susan Anderson says anyone adopting a hen is saving them from slaughter.
