The revamp includes an extension and upgrade of the company's current food processing facilities as well as the introduction of a new state of the art gel bone production plant.

Speaking to Tipp FM – Seamus Banim for the ABP Group says it’s a very innovative idea which should open up new markets for the company

Cahir Meats has been in South Tipp since the early 70 during which time a hundred million has been invested in developing the site with job creation going from 43 to 615 today.

Earlier this year ABP secured the first contract to export beef to America since the lifting of a 17 year ban late last year- and Seamus Banim believes this major revamp of Cahir over the past two years will ensure the plant plays a key role in this

ABP Cahir is the largest employer in the region – with over 600 staff members on site – but it also supports a further 13 hundred jobs in the wider economy.

And Seamus Banim says a report conducted by Oxford Economics and KPMG shows the South Tipp Plant will be a major economic drive
