The taxi driver was murdered at his home on Poplar Row in Dublin's north inner city last February, amid the ongoing Kinahan-Hutch gangland feud.
Gardaí investigating his murder say they have detained two men one in their 20's and the other in their 30's in connection with his death.
Both men are detained under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Several people have died in shootings in the capital in the past couple of months as part of the violent Kinahan-Hutch gangland feud.
