12 thousand contacted Dublin Rape Crisis Centre in 2015

Figures released today show almost 12,000 people contacted the organisation's national helpline in 2015.

In addition to the 24-hour-helpline, the service also provided face to face therapy, and support through counselling and dealing with the justice system.

The organisation also works to prevent rape taking place in the first place, and CEO Noeline Blackwell has called for the urgent enactment of the Criminal Law – Sexual Offences – Bill, when the Dail returns in the autumn.
