Hosepipe ban extended in Tipperary

The hosepipe ban has been extended in Tipperary until Sunday the 30th of September.

Irish Water says it’s necessary to conserve water supplies, as levels in rivers lakes and ground sources remain lower than normal.

The ban will remain in place for 16 counties – while it be lifted for 10 counties in the north west at the end of the month, due to increased rainfall.

Duane O’ Brien, Operations Lead for Irish Water in Tipperary, was thankful for the efforts of the public so far and urged people to continue to conserve water.
