The State company says it plans to spend almost 1.8 billion euro over the next two years on infrastructure projects, including over €50 million in County Tipperary – the majority of this will go towards fixing leaking pipes.
Irish Water has also promised to lift all boil water notices by next year.
Householders in some parts of the country have had to endure boil water notices for the past eight years, including residents in Skeheenarinky on the Burncourt Scheme.
The Commission for Energy Regulation has yet to determine how much we'll have to pay for water – but Head of Asset Management for Irish Water Gerry Grant says it is likely to benchmark the charges with Northern Ireland.
