This week’s winter storm could see a status red weather warning being declared before the week is out.

The Beast from the East is expected to bring heavy snow and temperatures as low as -10 in the south and south east.

A yellow weather warning comes into force at 6 o’clock tomorrow evening for Tipperary while a status orange alert is in place for much of the east coast from 3pm tomorrow.

The National Emergency Coordination Group says it will meet every day this week to monitor the situation.
