A special joint meeting of councillors on both sides of the Tipp Clare border has been hailed a success.

Members from Nenagh and Killaloe Municipal Districts gathered in Ballina this week to brainstorm on projects that could benefit villages along Lough Derg.

It’s the first such gathering since 2014 when the town councillors were abolished and Tipp County Council was amalgamated and it was agreed that they would now become a bi annual event.

Fine Gael Councillor Ger Darcy says it’s really worthwhile.
