Tipperary County Council staff are preparing to cope with whatever Storm Brian throws at the Premier.

It’s set to batter the county in the next 24 hours and comes hot on the heels of Ophelia.

A number of roads across Tipperary are still flooded following heavy rain yesterday.

High water levels are expected in the River Suir around Clonmel and Carrick on Suir – part of the demountable flood barriers have been erected in Clonmel as a precautionary measure.

Ger Walsh is the co-ordinator of the county council’s Emergency Response Team.

Flooding is likely in some areas with caution being advised on the roads.

Ger Walsh says council staff will be on standby all weekend.
