Teachers Union highlight Tipperary class numbers

Primary schools in Tipperary are among the most overcrowded in the country according to figures from the Irish National Teachers Organisation.

Almost ninety per cent of primary pupils in the county are in classes greater than the EU average.

The INTO claim the figures showed the impact of government cutbacks on the ground in schools.

More than 1934 pupils in Tipperary are in classes of 30 or more.
