Slight Drop in average Tipperary Monthly Rent

New data from the Private Residential Tenancies Board showed there was a slight decrease of just 2 euro on the average from this time last year.

Nationally, rent prices have increased by three and a half percent over the last 12 months.

These latest figures published by the PRTB are compiled based on the rents paid for all dwellings including apartments and houses.

Overall there is a slight decrease on the last three months of 2013 in the county with the average rent for the first quarter of 2014 531 euro.

Some areas of Tipperary command higher rents for similar properties.

A two bed in Tipperary town is 465 euro while the same type of house or apartment in Clonmel will cost 525 euro.

Similarly, there's over a hundred euro difference in the rent asked for a four bed property in Cashel and Clonmel- 582 compared with 698 euro.

Nationally, rental prices are on the rise…with the Private Residential Tenancies Board reporting a 3 and a half percent rise in cost of renting…while the rent for apartments specifically rose by 5.6 percent from the first quarter of 2013.

Dublin, as expected, experienced a jump in rental costs, compared with the rest of the country.
