Reports of gunshots in Cappawhite overnight are apparently without foundation.
A number of people reported shots being fired and fighting in a local housing estate.
Gardai are understood to have maintained a presence in the village for a number of hours through to the early hours of this morning.
However Gardai in Tipp Town say no shots were fired.
