Ardfinnan bridge discussions continue

A public meeting will be held in Ardfinnan this weekend in relation to the bridge development.

Tipperary County Council has applied to an Bord Pleanala for remedial works on the bridge which they hope will get underway this summer.

The controversial one way system which is currently in operation in the village will continue for the duration of these works.

The application also includes permanent lighting and foot paths which many locals are opposed to, instead favouring an independant walkway.

The Council though has committed to applying for funding for either a walkway or cantilever bridge after the works are completed.

This is the option most favoured by the majority of local people.

Councillor Michail Anglim says this weekend’s meeting may be the final opportunity people have to make their opinions known

That meeting will take place in Ardfinnan Hall on Saturday night at 7.30pm.
