Progress made on Tipperary school transport issue.

Government efforts are underway to try and resolve a school transport conflict which is affecting young pupils with special needs in South Tipp.

In December Tipp Today highlighted the plights of two local mothers, Catherine Daly and Catherine Kennedy who are facing obstacles in attempting to secure places in Scoil Cormac in Cashel for their five year old sons.

The school is supporting their applications but a conflict between the Education Department and the HSE- specific to South Tipp, means they are unable to access transport to Scoil Cormac- which is necessary.

Local Independent TD Michael Lowry raised the issue in the Dail with Skills Minister Ciaran Cannon  and is buoyed by the response.
