Large numbers at South Tipp General A&E

 

The Accident and Emergency Department at South Tipperary General Hospital is under severe pressure today.

According to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are almost two dozen people on trolleys awaiting admission to the hospital.

At 21, it is the highest number for any hospital outside of Dublin in today’s figures.

Nationally there are 267 patients awaiting admission from Hospital Emergency Departments.
