Irish Water CEO back before Environment Committee.

The Chair of the Environment Committee says he's hopeful Irish Water are working to deliver value for money for the tax payer.

The head of the new utility, John Tierney from Terryglass, is due before the body again this afternoon to answer follow-up questions on the roll-out of services.

The CEO came under fire last month over set-up costs which have so far amounted to €180 million.

Chair of the Committee, Labour TD Michael McCarthy, says there was always going to be huge costs associated with the project.
