1-in-5 patients on trolleys today are at main hospitals serving Tipp

There are 497 people awaiting beds at hospitals across the country.

University Hospital Limerick is once again the worst affected.

The facility which serves North Tipp, Limerick and Clare has 56 patients on trolleys.

Frontline staff at South Tipp General in Clonmel are dealing with 41 patients without a bed today according to figures from the INMO.

Other hospitals suffering from extreme overcrowding include University Hospital Galway with 51 while there are 43 at Cork University Hospital.
