Tipperary County Council say they are co-operating fully with the Gardaí following the discovery of a large quantity of drugs at Nenagh Fire Station.
What’s believed to be cocaine was found at the station on the Limerick road in the town during a routine health and safety last Wednesday.
The cocaine is said to have an estimated street value in excess of €70,000.
Gardaí were immediately notified – a man in his 30s was arrested the following day and detained at Nenagh Garda Station.
He has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
This case is now an ongoing criminal investigation.
In a statement to Tipp FM Tipperary County Council say they are co-operating fully with Gardaí on the matter they do not want to prejudice or jeopardise the enquiry in any way and therefore is not in a position to comment further pending the conclusion of this investigation.
