Calls for beet harvesting plant on Limerick Waterford rail line

There are renewed calls for Tipperary County Council to request the relevant authorities to consider developing a Beet Harvesting Plant on the Limerick/Waterford Railway Line.

It comes following reports that Beet Ireland are looking at using a site in Carlow/Kildare.

Local Councillor Andy Moloney says the Premier County would be the ideal location for a revival of the industry.

He says a facility could be easily accommodated in South Tipp.
