Bank of Ireland is facing backlash over its decision to turn 100 of their 250 branches across Ireland cashless.

Age Action Ireland have criticized the move, saying it could leave older people behind.

There are 9 Bank of Ireland branches across County Tipperary, and three Bank Of Ireland branches in the Premier County are set to be hit by the move to make 100 of it’s branches “Cash free”.

Thurles, Roscrea and Tipperary Town are the branches set to be affected.

They will be operating over the counter services until 12.30pm , however, all transactions outside of those times will be done through automated machines.

However, speaking on Tipp Today this morning, Personal Finance Editor with the Irish Independent Charlie Weston, says it’s an opportunity for post offices.
