While long awaited roadworks in the North Tipperary town are finally underway local representatives feel the lack of spaces to park is hampering trade.
Council officials say resources are scarce and that it would be a poor way to spend the money they have.
Independent Councillor Joe Hannigan insists they are wrong.
But District Director Marcus O’Connor says there simply aren’t the funds for it.
