Some free parking or reduced parking rates are essential to bring footfall back into Clonmel town centre.
Town centre traders are calling for changes with Councillor Michael Murphy suggesting free parking in the morning and evening and for half an hour during the day.
However that would mean there may need to be small increases elsewhere.
The Fine Gael representative says he’s exploring a revenue neutral option with the county manager.
