Break-up of SE Hospital Network Set to Go Ahead

The government is set to approve the break-up of the south-east hospital network in the coming weeks, according to reports in today's papers.

The Sunday Times says the alliance between South Tipp hospital in Clonmel, Waterford Regional Hospital, St. Luke's in Kilkenny and Wexford General will soon be no more.

The paper also suggested that the reconfiguration could mean the winding down of maternity services in Clonmel.

Senior HSE executives are to meet Clonmel hospital management over the next two weeks about the future of the network.
