Protests are taking place across the country over the new proposed hike in bin charges.
The protests have been organised by Sinn Fein who have called for all those against the charges to come out and join in the demonstrations.
A previous freeze on bin charges lapses today, but the new system scrapping flat-rate charges does not take effect until the Autumn.
