Northern Ireland to hold talks amid hopes of budget agreement.

Politicians in the North will hold crunch talks today in a bid to strike a deal over the budget.

The Finance Minister proposed a draft document, and an agreement needs to be reached by tomorrow.

If Minister's fail to reach agreement they will forfeit a £100 million emergency loan from the British Treasury.

SDLP leader Alisdair McDonnell says resolving the budget row could lead the way for agreement on other issues.

“These things are all a bit like a jigsaw – they're all interlinked – and if you solve one, you…create the atmosphere for solving others” he said.
