Hospitals serving Tipperary are continuing to deal with severe overcrowding this afternoon.

While the number of patients on trolleys fell nationally – they remained stagnant in University Hospital Limerick.

The Dooradoyle Hospital, which serves North Tipp, has 55 people on trolleys in the emergency department and in overflow areas of wards, for the second day in a row.

Meanwhile, South Tipp General in Clonmel is marginally busier than yesterday – there are 28 patients waiting for a bed, including two children – up from 27 yesterday.

According to the INMO the total number of patients awaiting a bed has dropped from 623 yesterday to 528 nationally today.
