Reported defence agreement between Ireland and U.K.

Today's Irish Examiner claims a deal was reached between the two countries several years ago that would see the RAF defend us during an air raid.

The Department of Defence has refused to comment on the claims but the paper says they have five well-placed sources that tell them Tornado jets could be used to shoot down hijacked planes in Irish airspace.

The deal was reportedly reached because the Irish aircorps doesn't have the ability to take down commercial planes.
