Kelly rejects Tipp favouritism on active town grants

Under the Active Travel Town Scheme a €1 million euro was allocated to the Clonmel- Carrick on Suir greenway while Thurles received €500,000 for cycling routes throughout the town

In an article in the Irish Mirror yesterday Thurles born Fine Gael TD Fergus O'Dowd, who represents Louth, said Minister Kelly ignored the scoring system put in place to rank the projects in importance.

As a result Tipp projects effectively jumped the queue- something the Portroe Native rejects out of hand and said everything was done to ensure that the funds were spread right across the country.
