The HSE is warning that local hospital emergency departments are coming under massive pressure.
They are calling on people to try and slow the spread of viruses in the community by not going out in public if you are feeling unwell and by getting vaccinated if possible.
HSE Specialist Registrar in Public Health Medicine Dr Aoife O’Connell says that the strain of flu going around at the moment is putting a lot of people in hospital.
