Drop in numbers without a bed at UHL but still over 100 on trolleys

559 patients are waiting on trolleys at the country’s hospitals this afternoon.

It includes 108 at UHL which covers North Tipp, Clare and Limerick making it yet again the most overcrowded, according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

That’s followed by 45 patients at Cork University Hospital, and 44 at University Hospital Galway.

14 patients are without a bed at TUH in Clonmel while there are 3 at Nenagh Hospital.

Yesterday, the INMO said its members were ‘burnt out’ after there was record levels of overcrowding at UHL.
