Councillors back roll out of Phase 2 of STGH development plan

The Cathaoirleach of the local authority sought the support of her fellow councillors on the need to impress on Health Minister Simon Harris that services have to be improved at the Clonmel hospital.

Councillor Siobhán Ambrose says despite the HSE's stance that people in North Tipp should attend University Hospital Limerick, in an emergency patients will naturally go to the nearest hospital which is putting added pressure on South Tipp General.

The Fianna Fáil representative says it's important to keep pressure on the minister ahead of his visit to the hospital next month.
