U21 hurling controversy to feature at North convention

At one point the board decided not to nominate a representative in the county semi-finals but Toomevara were subsequently put forward to play Carrick Swans in the last four – a day after they drew with Kilruane MacDonaghs in the North final.

It's still not publicly known what criteria were used to determine that the Greyhounds would be the North's nominee.

County CCC Secretary Tom Maher says it's open to the board to suggest a way to deal with such situations that would be clear to everybody.

The convention in Cloughjordan gets underway at 8 o'clock.
