Michael Foley put the victors in front after three minutes with Jack Burke further extending Town's lead five minutes before the break.
Foley got his second just before the hour mark to seal the win.
Meanwhile, Moneygall are out of the FAI Youth Cup.
Finglas beat them 2-0 in the last sixteen of the competition.
