Tipp football heads critical of postponement

Longford manager Denis Connerton has already vented on the issue and Kearns says he empathises with him and he told Tipp FM's Jackie Cahill he was fuming after learning the game at Semple Stadium was pulled on Saturday at half twelve.

It was set to be a double header with the hurlers but the football clash was postponed due to fears over the condition of the pitch.

The match has now been refixed for this Saturday at 5 pm at Semple in another double header with Michael Ryan's hurlers taking on Kilkenny at 7 pm that evening.

Meanwhile speaking on Extra Time with Ronan Quirke last night Tipp Football Chairman Joe Hannigan says they were annoyed by the decision and tried to look at 6 alternative pitches but they were weren't feasible.

He added it means the side are playing four weeks in a row but have to just get on with it now and roll with the punches
