Tipp begin National League campaign with draw

Their topsy-turvy clash with Limerick in Kilmallock finished 2-9 to 1-12.

Tipp made a positive start to the match and led 1-6 to 0-5 at the break – the goal coming from captain Peter Acheson.

Limerick fought back strongly in the second period but Liam Kearns's side regained a foothold, most notably through Josh Keane's goal.

It looked as if they'd won it when Conor Sweeney pointed late on.

However, there was a sting in the tail as Ian Ryan – Limerick's top scorer on the day – drew the sides level to ensure the spoils were shared.
