Tipp beat Connacht champions

Charlier McGeever's side took on the highly fancied Connacht champions Galway in O'Connor Park, Tullamore and ran out 7 point winners.

1-10 to 6 points the final score after a tight first half saw Tipp lead by 0-4 to 0-3 at the interval.

A fine individual performance by Alan Tynan of Inane Rovers saw him register a personal tally of 1-5 which helped put Tipp into the driving seat.

Speaking last night on Tipp FM’s Extra Time programme, manager Charlie McGeever praised the players for a fantastic performance.

Tipp will now meet Kildare in the All Ireland semi-finals on August 30th.

Kerry are also through to the semi-finals following their 2-12 to 1-6 win over Sligo – the Munster champions will now meet Derry in the last four.
