Tipp Manager Michael Ryan fielded an experimental Tipperary team in a senior hurling challenge match played against All-Ireland club semi-finalists Slaughtneil Robert Emmets of Derry in Castleknock, Dublin yesterday afternoon.
Cathal Barrett made his long awaited return at midfield, Paul Maher started at centre-back and Justin Cahill made a big impact at midfield.
It finished Tipperary 1-23 Slaughtneil 3-8
